This is a show on Discovery Times channel. I really like it – I find it really interesting. Intriguing.
It’s a program dealing with murders – mostly serial killers – and a forensic phsychiatrist who has devoted his life to the study and classification, if you will, of these people. Dr. Stone has devised a scale of sorts where he places these killers in categories of evil. The lower the number, the more psychosis seems to be involved. For instance, Ed Gein is lower on the scale because he was so deeply insane that he wasn’t aware of the crimes he was committing. However, Tommy Lynn Stivers is a #22 – the highest level of evil – because he was aware of what he was doing, did it for gratification and enjoyed watching his victims suffer (there’s a lot more to it than that – this is just a mere skeleton of what the scale is about).
If you get the Discovery Times channel (channel 285 to Direct TV subscribers) I suggest watching or at least TIVO’ing an episode or two. In each episode they profile one or two (at least) murderers and discuss why they are the number they are on the scale. There is also a lot of information on how to determine if someone has the predisposition to become a serial killer (I had no idea that approx. 1 in 100 people is psychopathic although only a miniscule amount of them become homicidal). They discuss different tests that are done on psychopaths and how their results differ from the normal Joe Blow you’d meet on the street. It’s really very interesting. Check your local listings – although here it’s on in the mornings at both 8 and 9 am MST then again in the afternoons at 1 and 3 pm. New showings are on Sundays.
I’ll be back to talking BB8 soon – I’ve had real life going on and haven’t really had the energy to discuss the goings on…although I will say I’m so not happy with the way things have gone down recently!
